The Student Loan Service Center Staff Photo The State University of New York (SUNY) Student Loan Service Center (SLSC) has primary responsibility for servicing all of the Federal Perkins, Health Professions and Nursing Student Loans awarded at the 29 SUNY State Campuses.

The SUNY SLSC begins collecting borrower information as each loan disbursement is processed and reports this information to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) and the national credit bureaus in compliance with Federal regulations. All loan programs are operate on a revolving basis The SLSC will contact each borrower after separation from the SUNY campus occurs to provide loan repayment information. All of the loan programs operate on a revolving basis and are therefore dependent on loan repayments to assist current students with educational expenses. All loan funds collected are returned to the campus from which the loan was awarded.

In addition to the student loan programs serviced, the SLSC also has primary responsibility for reporting the Federal Pell Grant information to the Department of Education for each Pell recipient at the SUNY state campuses. The SLSC works with each campus to receive and report electronic award and disbursement information and to assist campuses with the correction and resubmission of any errors that occur with regard to this data.

Please contact the SLSC for information on your loan status or repayment options if you do not find the information available on our Web site.
